I love to knit and it is what I call mental hygiene. I combine it often with an audio book and I can just feel how the pulse is calming down. You don’t think of anything really. I have done many large projects and I am sure I couldn’t finish anything if I didn’t cut out the thoughts. Blankets and sweaters have become a peace of cake…. It hasn’t always been like that. Previously the goal was to finish something off very quickly. The goal now is just to relax and have a cosy time and suddenly I am there where I am to suppose to cast off. Strange thing but I guess it is because I have reached a certain age. So hand knitting and mental hygiene is a good combo. The Anxiety release, a lot of problems are solved during the knitting even when my mind is floating…..
